Dysport® Treatment in Northridge, CA

Still your face, just less tired-looking.

Smoother Skin, Faster Results

You catch it in a photo before you catch it in the mirror: that line between your brows that used to only show up when you were annoyed, now just sitting there at rest. Dysport works fast by neuromodulator standards, and many of our patients notice initial softening within a few days rather than the week or more some treatments take.

At N2U Aesthetics, our physician-led team maps your dosing to your own muscle activity, so what shows up afterward still looks like you, just without the line doing the talking.

What Is Dysport?

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injectable designed to temporarily soften muscle activity that contributes to visible frown lines, creating a smoother and more refreshed appearance without surgery. It’s FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines or “frown lines” between the eyebrows, in adults under 65.

How Dysport Works

Facial expressions are created when nerves signal specific muscles to contract. Over time, repeated contractions can cause lines to remain visible even when the face is relaxed.

Dysport works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger that tells targeted muscles to contract. With less muscle activity in the treated area, the skin above it appears smoother at rest and during expression. Because Dysport targets specific muscles rather than the skin itself, it doesn’t add volume or change the surrounding tissue, it simply reduces the movement that creates certain lines over time.

Dysport vs. Botox®: What's the Difference

Dysport and Botox are both botulinum toxin type A products, but they’re formulated differently, dosed differently, and have different FDA-approved cosmetic indications.

Benefits of Dysport at N2U Aesthetics

Faster Onset Than Other Neurotoxins

Many patients and injectors report that Dysport may begin softening the treated area slightly faster than some other neurotoxins, sometimes within 2 to 3 days. Individual response varies, and your timeline will depend on your muscle activity and dosing.

Natural, Non-Frozen Results

Dysport is dosed to relax targeted muscles without eliminating expression entirely. The goal is softened lines with movement that still looks like you, not a flat or overly stiff appearance.

Minimal Downtime

Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Some mild redness or swelling at the injection sites is common and typically resolves quickly.

Quick In-Office Treatment

The injection process itself usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes, making it easy to fit into a lunch break or a stop between other errands.

Areas We Treat With Dysport

Forehead Lines

Horizontal forehead lines develop from repeatedly raising the eyebrows. Carefully placed Dysport injections can soften these creases while preserving natural movement and maintaining balance between the forehead, brows, and eyelids.

Frown Lines (Glabellar Lines / "11s")

Glabellar lines are the vertical creases that form between the eyebrows from repeated frowning, squinting, or concentrating. Dysport relaxes the muscles responsible for these lines, helping the area look smoother and less tense.

Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet are the fine lines that appear at the outer corners of the eyes when smiling or squinting. Precise injections can reduce excess muscle movement in this area while preserving a natural, expressive smile.

Bunny Lines

Bunny lines are the small diagonal wrinkles that appear along the sides of the nose when smiling or scrunching the face. Small amounts of Dysport may be used to soften these lines without affecting surrounding facial movement.

Brow Lift

A nonsurgical Dysport brow lift uses targeted injections to adjust the balance between the muscles that raise and lower the brows. This may create a subtle, more open appearance around the eyes, though results depend on facial anatomy, muscle activity, and skin laxity.

**Dysport is FDA-approved for moderate to severe glabellar lines. Use in other facial areas is considered off-label and may be recommended when clinically appropriate following a personalized consultation.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Initial Consultation and Candidacy

Your visit starts with a conversation about your goals, medical history, and the areas that bother you most. Being upfront about your health history helps us build a plan that’s actually safe for you, not just a plan that looks good on paper.

The Injection Process

A fine needle is used to deliver small amounts of Dysport into the targeted muscles, guided by your injector’s assessment of your muscle strength and movement patterns. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch rather than significant pain.

Timeline for Seeing Results

Some patients begin to notice improvement within a few days, although the timing and degree of response vary from person to person. Results may continue to develop over the following days.

Aftercare Instructions

Most patients can return to their usual daily activities after treatment. Aftercare recommendations may vary based on the treatment area, dose, and individual medical history. Follow the personalized aftercare instructions we provide, including any temporary guidance about touching the treated areas, exercise, or additional facial treatments. Contact the clinic if you experience unexpected or worsening symptoms.

Dysport Pricing and Packages

Per-Unit Pricing

In the Los Angeles and Southern California market, pricing generally ranges from about 4 to 8 dollars per unit, with San Fernando Valley pricing sometimes running below premium neighborhoods like Beverly Hills. Because Dysport is formulated differently from Botox, more Dysport units are generally needed to achieve a comparable effect, so a lower per-unit price doesn’t necessarily mean a lower total cost.

Treatment Area Packages

Package pricing or promotional rates may occasionally be available for specific treatment areas or combinations. Ask the N2U Aesthetics team about current offers during your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does Dysport Last?

Clinical studies on Dysport for frown lines show effects lasting up to about four months, though many patients report effects lasting into the four to six month range. Individual results vary based on metabolism, muscle strength, and dosing.
Many patients notice initial softening within a few days, with fuller results typically visible within a couple of weeks. Individual response times vary, and the treated area may continue changing after the initial improvement becomes visible.
Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch. The needle used is very fine, and treatment is generally well tolerated without numbing. Sensitivity varies by person and treatment area. Tell your provider if you are anxious about injections or have a history of fainting during medical procedures.
Dysport carries the same general safety profile as other botulinum toxin products, including a boxed warning about the rare possibility of the toxin’s effects spreading beyond the injection site. Common side effects include injection site redness, swelling, or headache. Dysport isn’t appropriate for everyone, including people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, allergic to cow’s milk protein, or living with certain neuromuscular conditions. Our team reviews your health history during consultation to help determine whether Dysport is appropriate for you.
Many patients combine Dysport with other treatments, such as dermal fillers or skin resurfacing, though the right combination and timing depends on your goals and health history. Our team can talk through options during your consultation.
Both are botulinum toxin type A products, but they’re formulated differently and dosed in different units that aren’t interchangeable. Dysport’s FDA-approved cosmetic use is limited to frown lines, while Botox Cosmetic also carries approval for crow’s feet, forehead lines, and platysma bands. Many patients and injectors also report a slightly faster onset with Dysport, though individual response varies.
